In September last year, Caterpillar announced it was contemplating allocation of the production at the Caterpillar facility in Gosselies, Belgium, to other manufacturing facilities. An information and consultation procedure in compliance with Belgian law was opened shortly after the announcement.
With the formal decision to close, production of Caterpillar products on the Gosselies site will be phased out, with all production operations expected to end by the middle of this year. Phasing out of other operations and functions is expected to continue to the end of 2017.
